Carers play such an important role and use a wide range of transferable skills when looking after someone. We want to make sure that Carers have the chance to use and develop their skills so that they do not miss out on opportunities that are available.
Perhaps you are seeking to learn new skills, want to explore pre-employment opportunities or would like some support with updating your CV?
Whatever your situation. We would love to hear from you!
What you need to know:
• You need to be aged 16 +
• Opportunities can be flexible
• Free training and volunteer support will be provided
• There are no formal qualification requirements
• You will have access to regular support groups
• There is no cost to a volunteer, DBS check is free!
Some of the opportunities available are:
- Supporting the lonely and socially isolated
- Religious / faith or spiritual volunteering
- Gain some experience in a care home sector
- Companion / compassionate support to people who are end of life
You may have been caring for a short while or for some time and need some help with your confidence to get back to work or for job interviewing.
