School governors are volunteers who are committed to working with the school’s leadership team to support their work to improve pupil outcomes, wellbeing and school effectiveness. Governors work as a team with the Headteacher. Governors collectively make decisions on matters such as the future direction for the school, the school’s staffing structure, school budget spend, school policies and performance.
Blaneau Gwent’s Education services have been transformed. Categorisation of our schools continues to be strong, Estyn inspection reports demonstrate the excellent/ good work that is ongoing and we are well placed to continue to improve in line with the national educational reform agenda.
We are therefore looking for individuals who have a desire and determination to work with our school leadership teams to help deliver further improvements for our children and young people. We are looking for people who have a range of skills to help our schools continue their improvement journey. No prior education knowledge is required.
