Flooding from Highways
Flooding caused by overflowing drains or gullies within the highway network managed by the Council should be reported to the Highways Department on the contact details below:

Flooding from Rivers
'Main Rivers'
Natural Resource Wales is responsible for managing flooding from larger rivers, called 'main rivers'. Within Blaenau Gwent these are:
- Sirhowy River
- Ebbw River
- Ebbw Fach River
Flooding from 'main rivers' should be reported to the incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60 (24-hour).
To listen to recorded flood warning information for your area or to speak to someone for advice, call 0845 988 1188 (24-hour) (Calls cost 5p per minute plus your telephone company鈥檚 network access charge).
Other Rivers
Smaller watercourses, not classified as 'main rivers' fall under the responsibility of the Council. Please contact us at 01495 311556.
Flooding from a Public Sewer, a Burst Water Main or Water Service Pipe
Flooding from these sources should be reported to on 0800 0853968 (24-hour)
Flooding from all other Sources
The Council is responsible for managing the risk arising from flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses (smaller watercourses and ditches).
If you are experiencing flooding from surface water (run off or ponding), groundwater or any small watercourses or ditches (ordinary watercourses) please contact us at 01495 311556.

Improving our knowledge and understanding of historic flooding events across the borough will help us to focus our resources and funding towards those areas most susceptible to flooding.
We are working to set up a webpage to allow you to upload information you have in relation to current and historical flooding incidents.
